Minutes from Annual General meeting to be provided at next meeting

New Business:

1. Motion by John Legg to accept Treasurer’s report as presented; seconded by Larry Curley. Passed

2. Convention (19 - 21 April 2007 - Toronto):

* We are allowed 2 Delegates, 2 Alternates and 2 Observers to this year’s convention

* The following have volunteered their time to attend as representatives from Local 317

Delegates: Cathy Hamilton and John Legg

Alternates: Diane Legg and Kathy Kingshott

Observers: Don Evans and Larry Curley  

3. Regionals (24 March 2007 - Orillia):

* We are allowed to send 2 Delegates, 2 Alternates and 2 Observers to this year’s Regionals

* So far we have Cathy Hamilton as a Delegate.

* If anyone wishes to attend please contact Diane Legg@ 705-687-2294 (w) before Mid-February when the paperwork is due back in

4. Political Action Workshop (24 - 25 February 2007 - Peterborough):

* If anyone wishes to attend please contact Diane Legg@ 705-687-2294 (w) before 2 February when the paperwork is due back in

5. CERC

* The CERC minutes are available for download at the OPSEU Website

* It is suggested that they be printed and posted on all workplace bulletin boards.

6. Website:

* Cathy Hamilton will write a small column for the website.

* The minutes to the meetings will be posted online for all to print and post at work.

7. Social Events:

* We would like to hold a social event this year. The following suggestions have been noted and Larry Curley will check into the following venues:

 - Georgian Downs Racetrack (dinner, horse racing, casino)

 

- Casino Rama (dinner, casino, shows)

 

- Bowling get together

 8. Donations:

Motion by Mike Walsh to donate $200.00 to our Sisters & Brothers at Kennedy House who have been on STRIKE for 11 months. Seconded by Don Evans. Passed

9. Next Meeting

* March 27, 2007 at 6:30 in Huntsville at the Membership Centre
